Centuries of Sound - 1947 Part Two - Boptamism!
I made this!
Think you mostly know what this is by this point. If not, a three-hour immersive mix of original sounds from 1947, an exciting year between the end of WWII and the start of The Cold War when everything seemed briefly possible, featuring heaps of HOT R&B, Be-bop and, yes, more.
First hour is a preview podcast only (something I have to phase out when I get to the 50s) - full three hours is streamable via Mixcloud link or available to Patreons.

I just liked the gag, the great timing and bravery
if Piers says nothing there's no gag, and if he's self deprecating it wouldn't work half as well.
to work it gambles on Piers saying something in agreement to what he thinks is a complement, it's humphries banking on piers's puffed-up ego

Bravery?
I mean, I get that there’s a risk that jokes won’t work, but all Barry did was to deliver a non verbal put down to a notoriously self regarding twat in front of an audience that had come to see a show he was hosting. The crowd was guaranteed to be on side. Moron is extremely bumptious and loves the sound of his own voice more than his own children. If anyone pauses for breath the odds of him not saying something are very fucking slim. As gambles go, the stakes were subterranean. Sure, it was perfectly timed and delivered by seasoned pro in character, but that’s bravery? Do me a favour. RIP Humphries though, he was class.

One of my private school chums has a cousin that went to (state) school with Piers Pughe-Morgan.
He was a complete cock and everyone hated him, even then, so I have been reliably informed.

It was fun at the time, but still a clunky, buggy mess. Startopia was much better.
My lasting memories of Evil Genius are probably 50% staring at the map screen waiting for minions to run to the boat and 50% tediously tagging wave after wave of do-gooders for death because the social minions did bugger all to keep them away.
The sequel fixed a lot of the really annoying things but traps were still fucking useless.
You could do Alien vs Predator next. I think at one point it was impossible to play because everyone had 64 bit processors, the game was 32 bit (which was fine), but the installer was 16 bit so you couldn’t install it.

EG2 is a worthy sequel.
Fixed a lot of the really irritating things about the first one and added some of its own, but they’ve since patched most of them out. Traps are still useless though. That said you can recruit the Pyro from TF2 as a henchman, which is nice.
The first AvP mark you. The one where playing as the Alien gave you instant motion sickness when you climbed walls.

'in 2022, he told Alec Baldwin during an interview on Instagram live that “a lot of the thrill is gone” from film-making'.
To be fair, Alec's brainwave of introducing live ammunition to the set certainly brought an element of surprise back to the process.

mosesfarrow.blogspot.com/2018/05/a-son-speaks-out-by-moses-farrow.html
In the end it just seems like a mid-50s year old wealthy bloke mostly separated from his crackpot wife fucking a 21 year woman that wasn't his daughter or adopted daughter. A bit gross, but nothing that Di caprio and the rest arent doing, and unlike them he's had a long and apparently supportive marriage to her.

This is fascinating about Truth Social
I knew that companies and governments had been obligated to take rooms out in Trump hotels during his presidency, but if Truth Social works as intended, it'll mean that they'll have to take out huge, expensive ads on the network to do business in the states.

Apparently the reduced bond hasn’t been paid yet due to some problem with the paperwork.
I think he has until the end of this week for that.
I miss the film reviews though; were it not for this channel I would have never seen My Cousin Vinnie.
