Conclusion: northerners talk funny and are all permanently miserable.
We had to read the book, first. Proper let down, as we'd done War Of The Worlds, previously, which was much more my sort of thing.
I might have a better opinion of it if I'd come to it as an adult, but I doubt it.

You didn't even remember the bit with Brian Glover as the mental pe teacher.
That was the 'funny' bit.
We did Of Mice and Men and the film we saw was walkabout. The main thing I remember about that was the extremely camp teacher Mr 'camp' David paying a lot of attention to the screen when the aboriginal was on screen. Well that and Jenny Augutter swimming naked in a pond, obvs.

Pretty sure my school's English curriculum was designed to beat any enthusiasm for reading out of us.
Heart of Darkness was pretty good, though. We got to watch Apocalypse Now after reading that, which I wasn't too enamoured with (I preferred the book).
Shane was fucking shit, but the film was a goldmine of unintentional comedy.
Having to act out scenes from Romeo & Juliet in an all boys school was awkward.

here's to the actress emily blunt, without who we would have no rhyme for cunt.
well, you can use james, both blunt and hunt, but they are short of syllables unlike emily blunt,
you can use 'oxford' as in 'oxford punt', or you can use 'rear end', as in 'rear end shunt',
but they are a bit convoluted to rhyme well with cunt.
so here's to the actress emily blunt,
she may well be shit,
but she rhymes well with cunt

Not buying it for me, just trying to persuade the kids to go for that over Twilight Princess as a) it's half the price and B) Twilight Princess is a 12, for reasons unknown to me.
The fact that I'll end up playing it is pure coincidence. Cheers for endorsement, though.

WW is definitely a better game for kids
gameplay is very similar over the whole series but WW is bright and cartoony and more fun. TP is still good but the higher rating was because the game had a darker tone.

YES FAM
If you can't be arsed / don't have a good enough PC to get the Dolphin emulator set up and an ISO of the Gamecube version, the HD remake is excellent, and Wind Waker is probably the most underrated game in the series.
Dolphin emulator lets you play the original at a higher resolution than the HD remake with loads of other graphical tweaks, looks stunning but takes a bit of faffing and needs a beasty PC to run on max settings.

It's really good, I've played through several classic Gamecube games using it (Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Mario Sunshine, Mario Party...)
But yeah Wind Waker is great, and the art style means it's aged really well. Twilight Princess is probably a 12 due to it's marginally more mature story and setting (mature in a Zelda sense anyway).
