No. They're very prudish in some ways. Note the outrage over Jane Jackson's nipple.
But they produce and consume a shit load of porn. Cheerleaders, even at high schools, are mainstream and massively sexualised. On their version of the quality game show that is Deal or No Deal the boxes are held and opened by scantily clad models. One of the biggest selling magazines year after year is the Sports illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Sex sells. The Pope shits in the woods. Whadaya want?

HBO, Showtime,
and a few others in the US are currently making and broadcasting shows with sexually explicit content. Not so sure about "prime-time", because I don't really know what that means any more now that most TV content is also available online.

I think you're right that prime time has no real meaning anymore.
In the US the question should be be are they showing it on network or cable. HBO and Showtime are cable which means swearing and nudity. Network TV has no swearing and nudity. So, it's all about which channel the pageant is on.

This isn't meant as an attack or anything
I knew this person, who, when we were all having fun, would video us. It meant, if we were dancing like pricks, or singing badly, there was documentary evidence of it - and that was really unsettling (Karaoke for example NEVER warrants a rewatch).
So we just stopped mentioning we were going out, and enjoyed the moment.

I sat at a talk near someone recently who slurped his can of coke
SOME PEOPLE EH?
I have a video of me singing The Cheeky Song in a falsetto on my backup drive. I see my young face, and I just can't bring myself to delete it, or ever watch it.
Another guy, at another talk tried to assert his masculinity by eating pizza noisily mid-sentence, also noisily.
AND YET I AM COOL WITH NOISEY RAMEN SLURPING.
I should say, I am pretty much incapable of having a conversation online these days. I just share my thoughts that are inspired by what I have read, but without really addressing that thing.

Too right! I was on a nostalgia trip I guess..
I saw them in 2002 in Turin at a (maybe 500 capacity) venue called Hiroshima Mon Amour. No barriers, no security, I basically leant my right elbow on the stage right in front of Johnny Temple. Good times..
You are very right in pointing out the speaker issue too. Next paycheque, I intend to invest in a couple of proper speakers and a Denon, possibly Cambridge amp. Should work like a treat!
