Teh first evar DERBY BASH!

All the geeky cool kids will be there, don't you think enough of yourself to be one of them?!

Bring silly stuff.
Queries accepted below.

The Jessie Inn
So far we have the following people signed up for crash space:
- in vino veritas
- Syncubus
- masterconnor
- Mugatu
- Sir Zyk0tiK
- Kamikaze Stoat
- Black Moon
- Crazyjude
- Tutt
- Mstandot
Let me know if I've missed you off/you need a place too :)

Just so you know, I'm not going to actually allocate space and stuff but I have the following available:
- 2 sofas
- 1 double sofa bed
- 1 single bed
- plenty of floor space for those with sleeping bags etc.

The only catch is that I live above a residential home, and am likely to get quite a bit of grief over the noise, if you guys could try and be relatively quiet I'd be very grateful, and wouldn't spit in your brekkie next morning :D
If anyone wants my mobile number for purposes of orientation, lifts or general assurance, then email me (address in profile)

EDIT: The very lovely ablufia has asked me to point out that they have the following available:

1 double and 1 single bed spare, 2 sofas and a load of floor space for thee purposes of crashing* - sleeping bags/etc will be needed for any sofa/floor type arrangement - probably best to let them know it's in beeston, a short taxi ride away (i've been told £18 to £20)

*as long as they aren't bloody weird

I believe Sutton offered crash space too, though i don't know if that still stands. We can probably sort out who gets who at the bash...almost there folks! *excites*

or can recommend a good cheap hotel/B&B?

(, Thu 7 Sep 2006, 22:33, Reply)
yeah if I'm coming

I'm gonna need a B&B or some floor space of some description too.

(, Thu 7 Sep 2006, 22:38, Reply)
I have two sofas

A double sofa bed, and some serious floor space should anyone not mind roughing it/have something to sleep on. I have a feeling that it's going to disappear fast though, so if you want to put up with my hospitality let me know on here so I can keep track of how many want it

(, Thu 7 Sep 2006, 22:57, Reply)
can i book a place at the jessie inn ?

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 22:01, Reply)
I done finded this:

The Heritage Hotel is on Macklin Street, which seems pretty close. Can any of the indigenous species confirm?

Willing to cover the cost of a double room (I don't 'do' single rooms - I need the space for my hats) for pretty ladies willing to perform lewd acts in exchange for comfortable accomodation and free breakfast, providing they don't tell Nurse When.

MEMEMEMMEMEMEMEMEEEEEEEEE

*raises hand and jumps up and down*

can I come crash at yours? I don't mind donating a bit too... we could smuggle the other people I'm lifting in too :D

So long as you're aware...

...I'm not joking about the lewd acts. Please ensure your ankles are clean.

Very close to town, and so not a bad choice

Chorizowagon, aren't you driving loads of other peeps? they need to know they'll be stuck in my clutches Derby tooo

Edit: Er, Yes, you did refer to that. Don't mind me. Tired. Blah.

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 21:48, Reply)
That's near

That's really close to where I live. You'd have to walk through town to get to the bless. It probably wouldn't take too long though....

The bar's been done up recently, don't know what the rooms are like...

(, Thu 28 Sep 2006, 16:18, Reply)
i would like to stay here please and thankyou what's going on?

I will be assembling a harem and moving on to The Bless as soon as my valet has ironed my hats.

Dress to impress. I will make you a badge.

(, Mon 2 Oct 2006, 2:07, Reply)
That looks a bit more of a Guest House...

...or a B&B.

More tricky to sneak hookers, road cones and farm animals into.

(, Wed 4 Oct 2006, 13:23, Reply)
You'll be fine with

the heritage then! You can hire it by the hour so I've heard...

Hmm. Derby.

I've never been there.

Not too far away from Brum though.

October is fairly free according to the Dr. When Bumper Book of Parties.

Might need floorspace (can provide own sleeping bag, valet, wagon lääger, that sort of thing).

*considers*

(, Fri 8 Sep 2006, 10:17, Reply)
I can provide transport

so thats that you're coming!

(, Mon 11 Sep 2006, 12:53, Reply)

So I can probably take some locals, too.

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 12:51, Reply)
Well it looks like there isn't much point in me driving then

I suspect I'll look into this a bit closer to the time though!

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 16:52, Reply)
Likewise.

I can fit 4 bodies, with plenty space for luggage and hats. The car smells a bit like sweaty armour and used swords, but the windows open and everything.

(, Wed 13 Sep 2006, 12:00, Reply)
Hmm,

I'm tempted, but it would be my first ever bash, and I'd still be thirty-seven days under legal pubbing age, and all of this isn't helped by the fact that I look like I'm only fifteen.

So probably not.

(, Fri 8 Sep 2006, 22:32, Reply)
I'll buy you drinks if you're lully

(and understand I mean 'buy' not always 'pay for')

(, Sat 9 Sep 2006, 0:44, Reply)
Haha, cheers. .

I wouldn't expect anyone to actually pay for my drinks (early on in the evening anyway).

Hmmm, I'm more tempted now. I sort of know Derby but I don't know where The Bless is. Is it off down many lonely streets or is it visible from the patch outside the Guildhall and that place surrounding there?

(I've looked at the map, but I'm terribly crap at deciphering all those squiggly lines.)

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 19:18, Reply)
Bit further out than that

Are you familiar with The Island (bar) or Queen's leisure centre? It's pretty near those. But from the guild hall you basically walk out past Wetherspoons/the big cathedral and it's up there, about 3/4 minutes walk from town centre/Guild Hall.

But not to fret if you don't know Derby (or what the hell I'm on about!), there be guidance if it's required, or email me for my mobile number and I can meet people as they arrive.

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 23:35, Reply)
I'll go down sometime in the week,

and have a scout around and see if I can find it. If not I may be e-mailing.

(, Mon 11 Sep 2006, 20:37, Reply)
I might might MIGHT be able to make this one.

I'd love it if you did!

Try! Try HARD!

(, Thu 21 Sep 2006, 6:26, Reply)
I really really want to come to this one.

Because it's 'just round the corner' for me.

But I'm probably too old.

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 9:13, Reply)
how old is too old?

There's already a 30 year-old signed up.

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 12:44, Reply)
30

is not old!

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 22:02, Reply)
In fact...

...it's three years younger than me!

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 10:13, Reply)
It may be a silly night, so I don't know?

But I certainly wouldn't condone not coming simply by an age. There will be a 30 and (hopefully) 37 year old there, and if you want to come, you just should. Simple as.

Plus I want you there.

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 14:42, Reply)
Oh Jessy my dear.

How can I refuse now?

I'll sign up if I can, I'll look into it and let you know.

PS. I'm 40 by the way, so I may well be the oldest fart there.

recommend a hotel close to where we'll be getting langered?

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 18:35, Reply)
I have floor space (and maybe sofabeds yet, I don't know)

But there is also the Heritage hotel which others will be crashing at I believe (^^^)

if I'm not too hung over there will most likely be brekkie at mine too, but only the quiet ones get it as I live above a residential home, and suspect I'm likely to get into quite some measure of trouble over the loudness that night \o/

(, Tue 12 Sep 2006, 21:54, Reply)
Doh!

How did I manage to miss that?

is this place in walkable distance from the train station?

(, Mon 18 Sep 2006, 7:23, Reply)
Yes

But it's a good 20 minutes or something, and easier if you know where you're going, hahah. There will be lifts from the station if you let me know when you're arriving, obviously if anyone knows others training it and can arrange to arrive at a similar time, that would be wonderfully helpful :)

(, Mon 18 Sep 2006, 10:30, Reply)
cool not a problem - I can always jump in a taxi.

Also, apologies for my confusion about 'should I get a hotel or not' but I have decided to take up your kind offer of bed/sofa/floor/garden space if that's still ok :)

This is brilliant news

And there is still crashing at mine. I can't promise beds/sofas to all, but if people try and bring something to sleep under at least we should be fine for soft surfaces :)

Would it be okay for someone to come along who isn't actually a B3tan,

but I can assure you is gorgeous and lovely?

Absolutely!

(as long as they are suitably warned what a weird bunch we are, hahah)

ATTENTION PLEASE you lovely bunch of bashers!

As we are fast approaching our destination i'd just like to check a few bits.

Here is my list of people I know to be joining me at the Jessie Inn Saturday night:
- in vino veritas
- Syncubus
- masterconnor
- Kamikaze Stoat
- Black Moon
- CrazyJude
- Mstandot
- TuTT

PLEASE can you let me know if you no longer need your place, or if I have missed you off?
This is about my limit for soft surfaces, but there will always be space for floor-kippers, even on the night. Could I just ask that if anyone has sleeping bags/blankets that they could bring without too much effort, that they do, because this is something I will struggle with :)

Sutton and Ablufia also have crash space, if you require more than I can offer, or just don't like me, then contact them through whatever means you deem appropriate (and legal in your area of residence), I hear they're quite lovely.

Hmm, what else? ah, yes, anyone that wants my mobile number feel free to message me and I will provide it.
Anyone that is likely to need lifts, I need to know before the bash, so I don't go getting drunk too early...unless anyone signed up for the psycho package? then dubious driving comes as standard. Just let me know your ETA in this thread, and maybe there are even people arriving around the same time and we can save a few molecules of the environment ;)

I think that's it for now \o/
