The one point she makes that almost sounds like a valid point (people might subconsciously believe the NHS can pick up the pieces) would mean that before the NHS no one drank themselves to an early grave, which is clearly nonsense.

But I can't help but pragmatically and simplistically agree that people who abuse any system should in theory contribute to it more. Edit - which as Snowytherabbit rightly says, is already the case.

I can tell you nobody wants to go to the hospital. For the life of me I can't think of anyone who would abuse the system by deliberately getting themselves sick, because every single moment of having a medical condition that needs hospital treatment sucks. The pain aside it is frustrating not being able to take care of yourself.
