Hey everyone, can any of you offer some advice?
I'd like a new phone and I've had my eye on the Samsung Galaxy II, does anyone have one and can recommend it, or does anyone have any other suggestions I might want to consider. I don't want an iphone.

I won't be around much so feel free to fill this thread with abuse and pointless chatter. Thanks in advance.

Good morning B3-et-nam*.
1. Did you know about this? archaeology.about.com/od/medieval/qt/Dust-Veil-of-AD-536.htm
It's not one of 'my' periods, but I'd have thought I'd have heard about it nonetheless. A third of Europe dead from a 18-month-long blue dust cloud? Frost in summer in China? Nope.

2. I read two things which tickled me this morning:
a) Some mongol on 'Facebook' reckoned that Bale fellow would have made it 'even more special' if he'd have turned up at the hospital to visit those shooting victims in his Batman suit. Yes, having a unexpected black-clad figure looming over them as they regain consciousness after what they've been through would certainly be 'special' for them alright. Maybe they could make it more dramatic with some smoke bombs etc? And a Joker impersonator?
b) I read with more than a little confusion that they're having music at Olympic events to 'match' them, such as Dizzee Rascal at the basketball which I can understand, you know, coloured music etc., the other example given was Elton John at the, er, archery? Short of some truly desperate gay joke I could think of absolutely nothing to link those two. Any ideas?

So, with that in mind, let's have some more apt music/sport pairings please.

Like, 'The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner' by your favourites and mine 'Iron Maiden', for the marathon etc.

Alt: I'm down in the fucking dumps**. Cheer me up, please. Thanks in advance. In question form: what would you do to cheer me up, other than 'nothing' lol?

Going home on the bus thread
I think children should be banned from going to school as the roads are so much clearer at rush hour without them.

Thai red cuzza for dinner, I think I only have brown rice though.

Someone just opened a bag of Tooty Fruities.
They are like sweety porn. We also have a bag of Opal Fruits.

Top three bars or sweets. I am going for 3. Marathon. 2. Sherbert pips. 1. Wine gums.

Alt: Being stuck inside is torcher. What are you doing after work?

So the public sector strike is off, and our lovely Olympics are saved.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-18982453

Phew, I'm so glad. What are you glad about? What have you been happy about?
Alt, please feel free to start a lunch thread. I'm still looking at the morning coffee.

When was the last time you pretended to like something to spare someone else's feelings?
When my wife is trying on dresses I tend to tell her the truth. It can be harsh but there's no point beating around the bush.

Alt: On a percentage scale of satisfaction, how high does good service come? I think it's VERY important. I took the family out for a meal last night and we were sat looking at our food for a good 8 minutes before cutlery arrived. This meant much of the food was cold, instead of apologies from the waiting staff we got a list of excuses as to why they were struggling at that time. I don't give a fuck if they were short-staffed/missing limbs/giving birth, I've paid for hot food and I want it fucking hot.

Altalt: Best episode of a TV series ever.
(, Wed 25 Jul 2012, 11:24, 168 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Fuck that shit.
So the UK GDP is down 0.7% more half a percent more than expected. So who's fault is it?
Well it's the governments obviously, but who should be blamed? I think the Queen.

Anyway I'm shocked and saddened to notice not one of you has asked me how my home brew stout is yet. It's like you don't care about ME

GOOD DAY.
Good day? I'll briefly see my kid tonight which will be nice.

The 'Olympic torch' goes past my office this afternoon. *shrugs*

My office windows don't open more than 3 inches. It's fucking boiling in here despite two fans going full pelt. I feel knackered already.

I think I'm going camping for the night on Saturday. Is camping something you enjoy? Don't bother with the Foxtrot gags please.

Alright?
What's made you laugh recently?

Alt: On the radio this morning they were saying that universities are reporting that people with A* mathematics A Levels are inadequately schooled in maths to take on engineering degrees, so it seems that Gove fellow is right to say that our qualifications aren't worth shit these days. Do you believe a return to a two tier sytems like the old CSE/O Levels would help? Save our children's futures, /OT.

Altalt: When I was a boy it seemed to me that I was the only child I knew who regularly went on holiday in Britain. What about you? Have you spent your breaks abroad more than you have here? How well do you know your own country?

Just watched the new batman movie in a cinema with only six people.
Started slow but still amazing. What's everyone up to? In the garden with beers? Doob?

Well, I've just had to shift 200 PCs
on 10 pallets, then clear away those pallets and associated packaging. I'm fucking knackered and sweating like a chav in Dixons. I am going to go home, possibly after a drink with a workmate (colleague, not a work bench) and have a cold shower.

What'll you be doing this evening? lol my mum.

Hiya gang!!!!!
I read that Syria says it will not use chemical weapons against its own people. Well that's nice, isn't it? They can't be that bad after all!

What else is nice?

Alt: Robert just cannot leave it alone, it seems. What can't YOU leave alone?

so that lady whose wedding i went to the other week
her cancer's kicked it up a notch and she doesn't have long left.

makes you think, doesn't it?

alt have you ever shoved a highlighter up your girlfriend and told her to move about like a big trak?
(, Mon 23 Jul 2012, 14:25, 223 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
are you all too busy shovelling food into your gobs to talk? food should bring you all back to the table
question: my boss bought me a beautiful cheese back from italy with truffles in it. what should i cook with it?

alt: one of my colleagues hates cheese. is this possible? what do you hate that everyone else seems to love? i'm going to say BACON

altalt: especially for quentin (who doesn't need to answer as we all know). have you ever been stepped? what was your misdemeanour?
(, Mon 23 Jul 2012, 12:57, 175 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Righty-ho, another new thread seems to be necessary.
If you were creating your B3ta account for the first time today, would you still choose your name as it is now, or go for something else?

If the latter, what?

I've posted this before but I think I might go for 'Queef Richards' this time around.

Alt: my enthusiasm for hip hop has been reinvigorated over the past week. I've fallen back in love with it again in a big way. What are you enthusiastic about these days?
Altalt: What are you disillusioned about? What's let you down?
(, Mon 23 Jul 2012, 11:35, 107 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
New thread, that one's shit.
So, we have a British winner of the Tour de France for the first time ever. Who else is pleased about this?

The government is once again saying they are going to clamp down on tax avoidance by naming and shaming. What other perfectly legal things do you think the government should stick their oar into and irrationally start instigating a program of national humiliation for the transgressors?

My vote is for people who are a bit loud in pubs when you're trying to enjoy some food. They're not doing anything wrong, but I would like them publicly named and shamed.
(, Mon 23 Jul 2012, 9:53, 191 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
here is a new thread for sporters
So is someone going to tell me what happened on Friday or what? Was there any flouncing?

Another week, another American shooting massacre, when will they learn eh? but how would you exact your revenge on the cold world that spawned you and rejected you? Who would feel your wrath and suffer for your "pain"?

alt: prick?
(, Mon 23 Jul 2012, 9:51, 28 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Irrational loves and hates
I love crisp, cold, green apples but cannot bring myself to eat a red apple. I don't know why (apart from the crippling autism)

Haribo are the stuff of dreams but I hate Skittles

Tell me of your loves and hates please

Alt:
Good weekend?
