Bloody hell - that's just taken me back to 1979
They played Leeds Uni when I was still at school - it was one of my first gigs and I still remember how it felt to be a spotty 15 year old in a hall packed full of sweaty punk rockers, although it did probably influence my subsequent clothing and hairstyle choices!

I missed them by about 2 months on my first Falklands tour. They went down as a CSE show.
Not only did they do the usual round of Bottom Naafi, Stanley and the Mountain Sites, but they also played a gig in our bar. Some thieving cunt nicked the poster for the gig from the wall, where it had been preserved under plexiglass many years later.

This is a particular favourite track of mine...he never seemed to garner the same recognition as the electronica gods (Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, etc.), but I hold him in equal high regard...a friend of mine put out his third album on the sadly-defunct Device label, and his back-catalogue soundtracked a memorable trip around Spain I took a few years ago. One of the few electronica artists I deeply love and have never seen live...

Rather than just looking at this in terms of good and evil try and consider the complexities. Ask yourself what the realistic alternatives to this regime are. Are they better? How many people would need to die in order to change it? How long would it take? What resources would reconstruction require? What are the competing factions inside Iran and in the Iranian diaspora? What do they want? What are the wider effects of any action you may take - be it condemnatory statement, sanctions, regime change or something else...

Just because you don't have a 100% perfect solution to a problem which addresses every conceivable aspect, does not prevent you from presenting valid criticism of the status quo.
