Seefeel: Quique
Another band that's been massively influential on me, melding two styles of music that I loved in the early '90s, and still do: shoegaze and electronica. I first saw them supporting Spiritualized at a gig that stands as one of my all-time favourites.

This is a particular favourite track of mine...he never seemed to garner the same recognition as the electronica gods (Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, etc.), but I hold him in equal high regard...a friend of mine put out his third album on the sadly-defunct Device label, and his back-catalogue soundtracked a memorable trip around Spain I took a few years ago. One of the few electronica artists I deeply love and have never seen live...

No I don't see that at all.
I did roundly condemn Pol Pot. When he was alive and *had* a murderous regime. But if you've read the story you'll see that they are point blank refusing to *support* protestors for democracy. And it's probably because Corbyn took Β£20,000 from the frequently censured fakenes channel Press TV and because Iran funds Hezbollah and Hamas - both of which Jezza is fully behind.

this sort of reductive approach worked so well in Iraq didnt it?
Rather than just looking at this in terms of good and evil try and consider the complexities. Ask yourself what the realistic alternatives to this regime are. Are they better? How many people would need to die in order to change it? How long would it take? What resources would reconstruction require? What are the competing factions inside Iran and in the Iranian diaspora? What do they want? What are the wider effects of any action you may take - be it condemnatory statement, sanctions, regime change or something else...

That's a false dichotomy.
Just because you don't have a 100% perfect solution to a problem which addresses every conceivable aspect, does not prevent you from presenting valid criticism of the status quo.
Also, while I agree that on one level Jeremy is not compelled to make statements about this issue, he HAS made many statements about the area in the past so he has established his own precedent. To not make statements now is to be conspicuously silent on the issue.

Ask a republican guard
Or a woman who dared to train woman journalists. Or a homosexual.

I shall loudly ask it at my next dinner party
"Say Gavin, you're a homosexual. Is Iran a theocracy or a republic?"

It's clearly a republic,
in exactly the same way that North Korea is a democratic republic, for the people.

Considering Britain's history of fucking with the Middle East for its own ends
maybe it's better if all of you islanders mind your own damn business.

oh, you're serious...
yes, britian should probably not sell BAE weapons to the Saudis, trade with China and Israel and the Mynamar and the Phillipines a host of other human rights abusers, support every tinpot dictator from Karimov to Pinochet just because they're allies. But the opposition leader not issuing a statement while on holiday about a protest in another country is probably the thing you've been told to focus on

Sure he has a back catalogue of posts on UK ethical foreign policy. Our current Foreign Secretary was probably involved with Chinese money but that never gets mentioned anymore (people don't die in protests in China anymore they just vanish) and was criticised by one of his own MPs for not saying anything about violence in Burma (until he was pushed)...6,000 dead in 1 month by the way.

there's a bit more to foreign policy than just tutting at events

Amazes me how far the right-wing rot has got that regular people will post this stuff...
...just to take a pop at the "Britain Hating, Terrorist Sympathising, Dictator Supporting Cor-Bin". Tories had lots of business with Syria, nothing, support war in Yemen, nothing, watched Bahrain (est 50+ protester deaths), nothing. Not to mention the mess and deaths of Libya, Egypt, Iraq of which this Government is not entirely blameless.
