NEW IMAGE CHALLENGE - Buddy Movies
This week you've voted for buddy movies, so pair-up mismatched film characters for wacky cinematic results.
Fight club with Rocky and Ip man, Driving miss daisy with Daisy Duke and Travis Bickle etc.

woohoo. That was quick.

The filename helped.
I love that song, but can't help but feel that every time the English adaptation is played it's a missed opportunity. For some reason, even though I can't understand what she's singing, I find the German version far more profound.
Could be over-analysing this a bit.

Agreed. Always felt it had more of a punky feel in the original German.
and as everyone knows "you can't translate punk"! Not really a quote but it probably should be.

Her nose is probably stopped up from the cold. She wouldn't even try.
She breathes through her mouth when the camera isn't looking.

Given the surface area of her eyes exposed
they'd probably freeze solid too.
Come to think of it, if you extrapolate those to spheres inside the skull, it doesn't leave much room for a brain anyway. They must rub against each other when she looks sideways.

This would increase the appeal of that film by approximately 253%
Saw it recently. Wasn't that impressed. Saw "Brave" on the same flight though, which was quite entertaining.

C'mon, you gotta at least appreciate the twist(s) at the end.
EDIT: Although I probably would've liked my first viewing better if I had known beforehand that it was a musical, instead of being blindsided by it.

Not really. It's full of dumb flaws.
Like, what use is replacing his ice-hauling sledge now the queen only has to snap her fingers and the whole town square is an ice rink? And the whole so-called "spell of eternal winter" barely lasts a day.
It's basically the same old isolation / reconciliation coming-of-age theme; it's just instead of a metaphor for growing up such as a girl having her pigtails shot off, this one goes just a tad further and gender-specific by incarnating PMT and a tampon...

She *could*, but why would she?
They cynical answer would be, "It's a make-work project so princess won't be dating an unemployed loser."
The more likely response is something like this:
"Your Majesty, would you magically generate some ice blocks for free?"
"Fsck off, pleb."

True, true.
And I suppose even if she did, he could always find gainful employment for those ice-cutting skills, such as being on-call to defrost the royal bog every time she's had a slash and it's frozen the plumbing solid. Not sure he'd need the sledge though, unless she'd had a particularly massive dump.

I can't remember a single song from Tangled
but I'd still rather watch that any time.
P.S. If you look at the backs of the heads of the visiting dignitaries as they're welcomed in the courtyard ahead of the coronation in Frozen, you can spot Rapunzel's final light brown spiky haircut.

my answer this week in the forme of a poem.
we did the adult book one not too long ago...
depression is depressing.
buddy movies seems like a repetition,
why? i'd just be guessing.
so comic strips to realistic stories
seems the way to go.
although we live in a democracy so voting will ultimately decide
and essentially be the only true way of having a fair suggestion
of our collective votes and therefore thoughts.
the end.

It seems a shame for the runners up to be cast into oblivion, especially when we have weeks where there ain't much doing,

Please give me a moment to consider the vote,
In a rhyming scheme A-B-C-B,
I believe all the options show promise and verve
But there’s only one true choice for me.
Cheering the depressed is a worthwhile aim,
But I doubt that this will be achieved,
We’ll kick them when down, you know this is B3ta -
A whoopee cushion for the bereaved.
Both Newspaper Strips and Books for the kids
Require an artistic bent,
Of which I am lacking, in shopping I’m slacking
So to Option Three I Relent.
And it was my idea.

I'd vote for 1 for personal repost potential, except that DC Thompson set their lawyers on me last time
So B, but as per Monkeon's suggestions children's covers for adult books works better as the other way round happens in real life all the time.
