Update on dangerous overtaking
Earlier in the week I posted a link to a video of a bunch of cyclists being overtaken dangerously by a car (link is to original thread and vid), and a lively debate followed about the rights and wrongs of cyclists riding two abreast, or generally being undesirable, and whether or not the car was reasonable in overtaking where and when it did.
The update is that the police have issued a notice of intended prosecution, which personally I'm pleased about, not least because it was my friend who was one of the ones nearly hit.

But only because they were signalling to turn right. Personally, I hate even single cyclists because overtaking them makes me so damn nervous. Faced with a fleet that size would probably make me collapse at the wheel in panic.

Done the designated driver thing enough to know what that's like, two's my limit on J2O, ditto other soft drinks. The only time I've ever ordered a hot drink in a pub though was at lunch.
I cannot imagine a situation though where I'd turn up to a club in a state of inebriation anywhere below "steaming", much less sober.
