No
From your description I expected it to be an interesting interview, and having watched half of it I didn't think it was, or contained anything of interest. There's a wannabe Brian Ferry with a wayward quiff trying to appear knowledgable and witty, and the foil to his razor-sharp repartee is an Eddy Large lookalike, his only feature of interest being the monstrous shock of an elderly woman's pubic hair on his head. The latter has a half-hearted stab at school boy humour, with a hint of shock, but I thought it all fell very flat. In the end the most interesting thing was two larger-than-life hair styles. Overall I felt the word vapid summed it up pretty well, but if you enjoyed it then good for you.

I hope they give some money and credit to the original artist, and I REALLY hope they keep it a bit dark like in the pic rather than totally kid's-filming it up.

I think it *should* be a thriller
The way I see it, Arachnophobia was a movie for people afraid of spiders - not for people who don't give a shit about them. A thriller should make you feel an adrenaline rush, like a roller-coaster. As far as I know they haven't yet made a thriller for kids. I think it is a fun idea.

My son and I got a deal on a ride in a FV434 personnel carrier.
It was very noisy, rough, dusty and hot. We were in it for about ten minutes, and that was enough. We decided that rather than it being a pleasure ride, it was an "experience".

Basically
When the ship is being designed it will be speced for max speed both in forward and reverse, sea conditions it can take etc etc.
The designers would have been on those boats praying to fuck they got it right and not have a broken gear-box or propellor shaft.

The thing that always bothered me about these games & the later films.
In Alien you have a bunch of space truckers who are taken by surprise and get minced. Fine.
In Aliens you have a bunch of marines who are trained and equipped to go up against humans. They get taken by surprise and mostly get minced. Also fine.
At this point the folks back home more or less know what they are up against, yet they still send people in with armour made of tissue paper, no acid protection and pea shooters with insufficient ammo.
It's almost as silly as Starship Troopers.

They already killed the franchise at least three times,
Alien 3: mediocre excuse for a sequel that killed off two of the heroes at the start and the main character at the end
Alien Resurrection: absurdist gory slapstick, and rubbish
Prometheus: pretentious rubbish that made no sense.
and that's not even counting Alien vs Predator which were just opportunistic gore fests that pissed on the grave of the original idea. Let's not now dig up the corpse to use in some sort of sick puppet show.

I like the top comment on that though:
"Ripley, Hicks, and Newt did make it back to Earth. Alien 3 was a bad dream Ripley was having in the Sulaco. Alien Resurrection was a bad dream the audience was having in the theater."
I read about some of the theological themes he put in, on the Wikipedia page. I like finding out the hidden meanings in films. I've never seen it mentioned anywhere, but there is definitely a Chi-Rho on one of the doors in the complex.

This, with two slight provisos.
Prometheus wasn't pretentious. It was too witless for that. And Alien vs Predator is - I admit - a guilty pleasure. The sequel's terrible, but the first is quite fun.

And in complete agreement about the first Alien vs Predator, a guilty pleasure for me as well; it's story line is classic Sci-Fi and I thought carried off quite well.

I know they feel obliged to make an action game
but even Aliens' (which this game is seemingly roughly based on) main strength was not running around blasting anything that moved charging about in the open.
It was about the element of surprise and chaos. Team dropping like flies, Aliens coming out the walls, all the shit going down.
Other memorable set-piece equivalents could've easily been when hunkered down looking at the blue-prints with motion sensors etc.
Of course an action game could probably never capture the suspense and madness of Aliens, but this whole running around gunning Aliens down wily nily doesn't sit right with me. In about 45 clips in the trailer the player should've been gunged in acid and killed.
The only thing that'll save the game is if it's a *good* action game with precise, fair controls. Given previous efforts I'd be surprised if that's the case.
P.s. I thought the Alien Vs Predator game from the late 90's got the balance about spot-on in terms of human flimsiness.
